This is NYCB 13th annual tournament. We had over 180 players participated in this 2.5 days event! Tournament had MS, MD, WS, WD, & XD in A, B, C, Junior and Senior divisions. Total 22 categories were played.

This was our Club's 8th annual team tournament.There were 14 teams invited from MA, DC, VA, NJ, CT, PA, NY to participate in this team events! The teams were divided into A level and B level groups with 7 teams in each group. There were 9 games played in each team-team matches. There were over 200 players participated in this biggest team event in the east coast!!

~ YONEX corp.: sponsored the following equipments for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd winning teams in both A and B levels, that worth about $4000.
1st place winning team: a pair of Yonex SHB100 badminton shoes ($100)/ player.
2nd place winning team: a tube of Yonex AS 50 shuttlecock ($28) + a roll of Yonex NanoGy 95 string ($15) / player.
3rd place winning team: a pair of Yonex sandals ( $20 )/ player.
~ Ms. Canny Yang: sponsored $300 in cash for the winning team.
~ Mr. Albert Lam: sponsored $300 in cash for the winning team.
~ NYCB Club: sponsored $850 in cash for the winning team.

Thanks for Mr. Bob Downey and Mrs. Nancy Downey's generouse and continued support for the sport of Badminton, the DOWNEY cup was successful and the largest badminton tournament in New York ever! The cash prize of $4000 plus $1000 ( medals & T-shirts ) were sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Downey ( Cash Prize Distribution Sheet ). They also presented at the tournament to support the games. Mr. Downey participated in Men's Double Senior games too!

* 2007 NYCB annual tournament - NanKai Cup
Thanks to all the players and observers who participated in the NYCB Nankai Cup over the weekend, you brought in all the highlights and excitement for badminton! But most of all, we would like to take the opportunity to thank Dai & Associates, P.C. , they generously sponsored the cash prize ( $3000 ) for the 1st , 2nd place winners of all 5 categories, total 13 events! As all of you know that Badminton is such an “un-popular” sport in the US that most of the tournaments either have no cash prize or very little. Therefore, we deeply appreciate Dai & Associates could provide this generous financial support to the tournament!

* The 7th NEW YORK CITY BADMINTON CLUB team invitational tournament
8 teams met and compete at NYC Badminton Club for ~ 2days. 8 team grouped into two pools in the first round, played round robin against the other 3 teams; then the teams played cross-over to determin the 1st to 8th places in the finals.
